Jawa All Stars 42 Bobber: Silver Knight, Shadow Black and the Codes Behind Them

Jawa All Stars 42 Bobber: Silver Knight, Shadow Black and the Codes Behind Them

Some motorcycles are noticed because they ask to be. The Jawa All Stars 42 Bobber has never been one of them. India’s first factory-custom Bobber earned its place through a silhouette nobody had to explain: a floating single seat, a cantilever design carried on rear mono-shock suspension, and a stance that reads as deliberate from any angle. In 2026, that presence was recognised with the Style Icon of the Year award.

On 4th September 2026, the 42 Bobber joined the Jawa All Stars chapter. Unveiled by Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group, at the Global Chess League 2026 in Bangalore, it marked Strike Two, and it arrived with new colourways, chequered graphics and the All Stars insignia.

Strike Two: Why the 42 Bobber Belongs Here

Jawa All Stars is built on three codes: Character, Conduct and Courage. The star is not a trophy for the exceptional or a mark of superiority. It is an insignia for a way of being: a visible mark for an invisible code, defined not by what a rider has achieved but by how they carry themselves.

Strike One introduced that thinking through a contemporary interpretation of the modern-classic Jawa. Strike Two builds on it through a motorcycle whose factory-custom character was already a statement of individuality before it had a name for it.

The venue was not incidental. In chess, every player works within a shared framework, yet every move reflects individual thought and conviction. All Stars recognises the same idea on the road: individuals who share a common code while staying entirely true to themselves.

All Stars Silver Knight: A Chequered Idea, Carried Well

All Stars Silver Knight takes its cue from chequered graphics, a language that belongs to motorcycling and to the chessboard in equal measure. Rendered across the tank in silver and blue with the J42 mark and the All Stars insignia, it draws a quiet line between two worlds shaped by conviction, courage and the confidence to chart one’s own path.

The chequer is not decoration applied for contrast; it is a reference, and it reads as one. Against the blacked-out engine, exhaust and alloy wheels, the lighter tank lifts the motorcycle’s proportions and makes the floating seat read even more clearly as the design decision it is.

All Stars Shadow Black: Presence Without Announcement

By wrapping the iconic floating single-seat silhouette in a flawless, stealthy matte-black finish, the Jawa All Stars 42 Bobber Shadow Black strips away the noise to expose the raw muscle underneath. Graphics recede. Surface and shadow do the work. What is left is form — the tank, the cantilever seat, the exposed frame lines — with nothing competing for attention.

It does not look like it came off a production line. It looks like it rolled straight out of a custom builder’s midnight workshop. For riders who have never wanted to explain themselves, it is the most articulate finish in the range.

What the New Colourways Leave Untouched

The character underneath is unchanged. The full Jawa 42 Bobber specifications carry over: a 334 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine producing 29.9 PS at 7,500 rpm and 30.01 Nm of torque, paired with a constant-mesh six-speed gearbox and twin exhaust. A double-cradle frame, telescopic 35 mm front forks and a gas-filled rear mono-shock with seven-step adjustable preload carry the cantilever seat design. Braking is by disc at both ends — 280 mm front, 240 mm rear — with dual-channel ABS.

It weighs 177 kg, holds 12.5 litres, and sits on a 1,485 mm wheelbase with a 740 mm seat height and 145 mm of ground clearance. Diamond-cut alloy wheels and a digital console complete a motorcycle designed to be looked at closely.

A Growing Sub-Culture, Not a Customer Base

Jawa All Stars is more than a motorcycle community. It brings together individuals from different walks of life through a shared code rather than a shared identity. Different journeys. Different personalities. One shared spirit. What connects them is not where they come from, but what they stand for.

Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group, put it this way at the unveiling:

“The Global Chess League has shown how individuality and collective purpose can exist side by side. Every player approaches the board with their own style yet contributes to something larger than themselves. The new Jawa All Stars 42 Bobber reflects a similar idea. It celebrates those who are confident in their own choices and understand that every meaningful move on a chessboard or on the road, begins with intent.”

Ownership, Held to the Same Standard

The confidence to choose your own road is easier to hold when support is never far from it. Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles continues its Ownership Assurance Program: a four-year or 50,000 km standard warranty, extendable up to six years, with roadside assistance available for up to eight years and annual maintenance cover for up to five. More than 450 sales and service touchpoints carry it nationwide.
